The Server Auto Lock-Down installer does not allow you to apply lock-down for newly created sites without re-installing the lock-down tool from the beginning. Follow the procedure to re-install the lock-down tool for a new site. Assumptions ColdFusion is configured with one site cfsite1, and the runtime user name of ColdFusion after lockdown is cfuser. With Microsoft shutting down the Basic Authentication for EWS, I assume it means we can’t use cfexchange and related tags any more? NOTE: YOU ONLY NEED TO APPLY THE LATEST OF MANY CF UPDATES

If you see multiple available updates in the CF Admin "server updates" UI, you need only apply the latest (if it's what you want). You can "skip" the others, though note that you should study their technotes for what they added.

WHEN YOU MAY NEED TO REFRESHWSDL FOR CALLS TO WEB SERVICES

Have you ever found that calls to web services from CF suddenly fail? when nothing has changed on your end? (No change of your CF version, no change of CF admin settings, nor any change regarding SSL/TLS on the host–all of which can cause their own problems.) What may have happened is that the owner of the web service may have changed something about their definition of that web service (in terms of methods or properties or return types). And […]

The .NET framework is one of the web’s most popular developing platforms. It consists of many different languages under one umbrella framework.  C# is one of these languages. CF2018 PMT CONNECTIVITY ISSUES

we’re in a segregated enterprise network environment.  i’m trying to figure out how to get my workstation connected to our dev server.  I’m running PMT on localhost, I go to Settings and CF servers and add a new manual entry.   I put in the DNS name for the dev server and port 8500.  but when I submit changes, it attempts but fails to connect to the remote node.    I can open http://dev-server:8500/CFIDE/Administrator/index.cfm  from a browser on my workstation and […]

The first half of the year 2019 has passed and we can say that so far it was very interesting and fruitful for ColdFusion. But, let’s start from what you might have missed in 2018. Believe it or not, some people, among them some CIO’s as well, still ask is CF dead? Yes, they do think that it’s slowly dying and that it’s time has long passed. Let’s take a quick look why is that. WEBSOCKET – CHANNELS?

This may be a noob question, and I admit that I am a noob when it comes to websockets. With ColdFusion, channels seem to be part of the core but when I research websockets in general, excluding ColdFusion, I cannot find documentation on channels. Are channels part of websockets that I’m not finding or are channels a ColdFusion added layer on top of websockets? Reason for my question, I have a third-party device that offers a websocket communication option. Reading […]
